About the role

Direct Hire Recruiting Manager Charlotte, NC | On-Site | Full-Time About NSCNSC is seeking an experienced Direct Hire Recruiting Manager to join our growing team in Charlotte, NC. This role will support direct-hire recruiting efforts across NSC and its subsidiaries, partnering with teams across the organization to drive recruiting activity, performance, and successful placements. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a staffing professional who enjoys developing recruiters, managing recruiting performance, and remaining actively involved in the recruiting process.
What You'll Do: As the Direct Hire Recruiting Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day recruiting operation while serving as a resource and coach to the recruiting team. You'll be responsible for: Assigning and prioritizing direct-hire job orders across the recruiting team. Monitoring recruiting activity, pipelines, submissions, interviews, and placements. Establishing daily and weekly recruiting priorities and expectations. Tracking key recruiting metrics and using data to drive performance. Conducting regular one-on-one meetings and team check-ins. Coaching recruiters on sourcing, candidate qualification, follow-up, and recruiting strategy. Supporting recruiters with challenging or high-priority searches. Actively participating in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate engagement. Coordinating candidate, recruiter, hiring manager, and client calls. Partnering with leadership across NSC and its subsidiaries to understand hiring needs and priorities. Identifying opportunities to improve recruiting processes, productivity, and results. Supporting the onboarding, training, and continued development of recruiting team members. Helping build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
What We're Looking For: Direct-hire/permanent placement recruiting experience. Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing recruiters. Strong understanding of recruiting KPIs and performance metrics. Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills. Strong sourcing, screening, and candidate engagement abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A proactive, accountable, and team-oriented approach. Experience supporting multiple business units or industries is a plus. Why This Role? This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role without stepping away from recruiting. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys leading from the front — setting priorities, coaching recruiters, analyzing performance, solving challenges, and jumping into the recruiting process when needed. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with leadership, support multiple NSC business lines, and play a key role in building and strengthening our direct-hire recruiting function.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
