Role Description:
The Licensed Therapist is a full-time, hybrid role based in St. Charles, IL, with flexibility for some work-from-home sessions and documentation time. The therapist will provide individual, couple, and/or family therapy, including intake assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing counseling using evidence-based approaches. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining a consistent caseload, documenting sessions in a timely and compliant manner, coordinating care with other providers when appropriate, and participating in case consultation or team meetings. The role also involves communicating clearly with clients about goals and progress, maintaining professional boundaries, adhering to ethical and legal standards, and contributing to a supportive, inclusive practice culture. The therapist may also engage in community outreach or educational activities that promote mental health awareness and support the reputation of Journey To Present.
Qualifications:
- Current, licensure in Illinois as an LPC, LCPC, LMFT, PsyD, PhD, or equivalent mental health license.
- Demonstrated competency in individual, couple, and/or family therapy, including intake assessment, diagnosis (when appropriate), and treatment planning.
- Experience using evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT-informed, ACT, trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness-based interventions).Interest in somatic and/or trauma treatments, with an emphasis on holistic psychotherapy
- Strong skills in clinical documentation, electronic health record (EHR) use, and compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations (HIPAA).Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, managing in-person sessions in Geneva, IL and telehealth sessions from a private, secure workspace.
- Commitment to culturally responsive care, including respect for diverse identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to build therapeutic rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
- Organizational and time-management skills to maintain a full-time caseload, complete documentation promptly, and balance administrative tasks.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience providing telehealth services and familiarity with virtual platforms is preferred.
