Standard Job Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced CNC programmer in Grand Prairie, TX. This candidate will join a collaborative team supporting a rapidly growing shop and will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs that enable high quality, on-time production.
Responsibilities include: Develop new CNC machining processes and program parts to meet design specifications- Analyze engineering drawings and determine the appropriate machine, machining strategy, cutting tools and parameters, and work holding strategy- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions- Analyze and improve existing programs to increase efficiency and reduce scrap- Research, test and implement new machining technology, cutters and equipment
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of NC programming experience using a CAM package
  • Proven process improvement and problem solving experience
  • Deep understanding of cutting tools and effective machining practices
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Desired Skills: Experience programming 3-5 axis mills and mill turn machines for a variety of materials- Experience with Siemens NX and Vericut software- Ability to design fixturing/workholding solutions- Experience evaluating new designs and working with engineering to improve part machinability.
