About the role
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking aNetwork Engineerto support a company supporting the Department of Defense. This position isonsiteat MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL. This is aunique opportunity supporting a network modernization effort within a classified CENTCOM environment. Responsibilities for theNetwork Engineerinclude: Assess existing Cisco Catalyst switching infrastructure and network topology. Identify configuration gaps, single points of failure, and resiliency improvements. Implement approved changes on Cisco Catalyst 9300X switches. Validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 network functionality after modernization efforts. Perform failover, redundancy, and convergence testing. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across switches, servers, and storage systems. Develop network diagrams, configuration documentation, and as-built records. Required Qualifications for theNetwork Engineerinclude: Active TS/SCI security clearance required. Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000-series switches, preferably 9300X.Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts. Experience with VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, routing, and network redundancy. Experience with Brocade switches, HPE 280 and 380 servers, and NetApp. Proven ability to assess and modernize enterprise network environments. Strong troubleshooting experience in production or mission-critical environments. Ability to create technical documentation and implementation records. Compensation for theNetwork Engineerincludes:
