About the role
- Food + E-Commerce / Brands
- Support Importer of Record processes — customs bonds, ISF filing, duty payment tracking, and PGA/FDA documentation for food shipments (with training and guidance)
- Help manage the shipment process from origin to final delivery
- Communicate with brokers and logistics providers on shipment status and documentation
- Create, submit, and follow up on shipping calls with suppliers and forwarders
- Track container bookings and shipment progress at origin
- Maintain internal tracking spreadsheets and monitor arrivals, delays, and schedule changes
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation (Commercial Invoice, Bill of Lading, COO, NOP, etc.)Create trucking orders for inland transport from port to warehouse
- Review freight invoices for accuracy
- Hardgoods + Fashion (FOB Shipments)
- Track FOB shipments from origin to final delivery and flag any changes in booking or arrival schedules
- Prepare shipping documentation (Commercial Invoice, Bill of Lading, inspection forms, etc.)Assist with pro-forma invoices for customs clearance
- Coordinate with vendors, internal US teams, and international colleagues (Germany HQ, China teams) on shipment status
- Support multi-country shipments and help ensure bookings align with SOPAll Departments
- Help manage multiple business units' shipments at once, re-prioritizing as needed to keep details from falling through the cracks
- Coordinate with the Finance team on ship dates and keep the freight tracker updated daily
- Stay aware of global shipping news (port closures, tariffs, capacity changes) and flag relevant developments to the team
- As you grow in the role, take on more responsibility for broker oversight, rate discussions, and cross-department process improvements
- 1–3 years of logistics, supply chain, or import/export experience — this can include experience at a freight forwarder, customs broker, NVOCC, or on the importer/brand side
- A professional, polished communicator — strong writing skills and confidence communicating with vendors, internal teams, and international colleagues
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and re-prioritize under pressure
- A self-starter who's willing to go the extra mile and take initiative
- Interest in learning import compliance, HTS classification, and customs processes — no prior compliance expertise required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointDegree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, but not required with relevant experience
