Job Information
Location: Racine, WI area (on-site, aluminum castings foundry)
Job Summary:
A molder prepares and assembles molds for aluminum castings and operates molding equipment. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare sand molds according to production specifications. Pack, ram, and compact molding sand to achieve required mold strength and dimensional accuracy. Set and secure cores, inserts, chills, and other mold components as required. Inspect molds for defects before pouring. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of molding equipment and work areas. Follow all safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards. Assist with preventive maintenance and cleaning of foundry equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Work in high-temperature environments. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive tasks. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including heat-resistant clothing, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing/foundry environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, molten metal, and moving machinery. Green sand molding. The line is fairly automated with some lifting. Molding or foundry experience preferred; will train. Details:
Pay: $20-22/hr to start, depending on experience
Shift:
1st shift, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (8.5 hrs on site, 30 min unpaid lunch)Contract position with a direct-hire opportunity after 520 hoursPPE: safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat or soft cap Hiring ASAP
