About the role
The Enterprise Engineering Unified Communications team provides globally scaled, high-qualityvoice and video communications solutions that support Amazonians around the world. Ourservices touch every element of the business every day: corporate offices, customer serviceteams, fulfillment centers, a diverse development community, and many more. We are lookingfor a motivated Systems Development Engineer who is ready to take telecommunications to thenext level. For this position, we require a strong coding skill set, detailed knowledge of softwaredevelopment best practices, depth in Linux operating systems and networking. You'll play a keyrole in architecting, designing, supporting, and enhancing our AWS-based telecommunicationsinfrastructure. You'll use and touch a wide range of technologies and systems, includingproducts that we've built from the ground up and commercial products. You'll help juniorengineers develop their skills, and continue to raise the bar building for the future of Amazon. Key job responsibilities In this role, you will build a next generation telephony platform for Internal Amazon, enableself-healing for our systems, and provide self-service tools that enable Amazonians to managetheir own personal telecom resources. You will use AWS products, DevOps patterns, and matureCICD processes to build a cloud-scale Telephony system. You will have the opportunity to becreative in a space that has not seen innovation in decades.
Basic qualifications:
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby Preferred qualification - Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
