About the role

About the Company: Our company produces complex, mission-critical machined parts for power generation, aerospace, defense, and oil & gas. The Cincinnati site is scaling fast — power-generation demand is already up roughly 4x heading into Q1, with more growth expected through 2028.
About the Role: We need a hands-on manufacturing engineering supervisor who can run jobs end-to-end and keep the engineering function moving when the senior manager is unavailable. This is not a desk-only methods role. You will program, design fixtures, set tool paths, release work through gate reviews, and be the first call when a machine or NPI is in trouble. You report directly to the Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager and work across machining, quality, and operations.
Responsibilities: Full-project manufacturing engineering: NX CAM programming, fixture design, tooling, work instructions, and process prove-out Large-part machining support — multi-axis milling and large horizontal boring mills (parts up to ~68" diameter)New product introduction and optimization of long-running legacy programs with newer tooling and better tool paths Daily prioritization of engineering work, shop support, and urgent troubleshooting Gate reviews with engineering, methods, and quality before jobs hit the floor Acting coverage for the Senior Manager during planned absence (first week of transition on-site; manager remains reachable by phone/Teams after that)Collaboration with sister sites when resources need to be borrowed or shared
Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering — or equivalent practical experience. Shop-plus-CAM background will beat a degree with no machine time.
Required Skills: Strong NX CAD/CAM programming experience (tool paths and process, not modeling-only)Hands-on CNC / metalworking background — shop-floor origin is a plus Proven ability to take a job from print to production without a specialist sitting next to you Experience with large, complex metal parts and multi-axis or horizontal boring work Ability to work on-site, first shift, ~50-hour weeks, with occasional weekend coverage for urgent issues Comfort leading work and people in a lean team (no dedicated methods or applications engineers today)
Preferred Skills: Started as a machinist or programmer and moved into engineering Power generation / industrial gas turbine or similar energy-component experienceNPI experience in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume shop Track record improving old programs for cycle time, tool life, or scrap Lean / continuous-improvement and clear process documentation habits Willingness to relocate to the Cincinnati metro if not already local

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
