Schedule: Standard Business HoursTarget Start Date: ASAP About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst / Data Scientist to join our Customer Analytics and Digital Products team on a high-impact, special project. In this role, you will analyze large-scale utility datasets, evaluate customer-facing digital products (such as rate recommendation and bill comparison tools), and build interactive reporting tools to drive business decisions and improve customer experience.
Key Responsibilities: Data Analysis & Quality Control: Analyze large utility datasets—including AMI usage, Customer Care & Billing (CC&B), and customer engagement data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and quality issues. Visualization & Reporting: Design and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visual summaries to track product performance, billing outcomes, and key customer metrics. Digital Product Support: Support customer-facing digital products (e.g., rate recommendation tools and bill comparison features) using historical usage and billing data. Engagement Analytics: Track and analyze website and digital engagement metrics (such as page views, clicks, and user interactions).Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Owners, software engineers, and business SMEs to support data integrations, user testing, and product enhancements. Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical findings into actionable insights and present recommendations clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
Required: Qualifications & Skills Utility Industry & AMI Data (MUST-HAVE): Direct experience working with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and utility customer usage data.
Note: Candidates without utility/AMI experience will not be considered. Professional Experience: 2+ years of professional data analysis experience, with a proven track record of reviewing large data extracts/dumps to identify trends and data anomalies. Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization. Experience with Databricks or working with large, multi-source datasets.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Core Competencies: Strong data validation and problem-solving skills, extreme attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for a regulated environment. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) data and tools. Proficiency with Google Analytics or other web/digital engagement tracking platforms. Proven track record developing recurring customer analytics reports and tracking digital product adoption.
