About the role
Leading a team of underwriters, the full-time salaried Director of Underwriting for the Sharing Economy in NJ will oversee complex auto liability risks, manage portfolio development, and collaborate with brokers in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities:
Lead underwriting activities for the Standard Accounts Sharing Economy business unit
Manage and develop a team of underwriters while overseeing complex auto liability-focused risks
Develop underwriting strategies to drive profitable growth and ensure consistency in coverage and pricing
Required qualifications:
10+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in commercial casualty or specialty lines
Strong technical coverage skills, including experience with manuscript forms and bespoke policy wording
Experience managing or mentoring underwriters
Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and evolving risk environments
Strong underwriting and coverage analysis skills
