About the role

At some point, the next step in a litigation career should mean more than a larger caseload. You have already proven that you can handle difficult clients, contested hearings, ugly facts, and arguments with your name attached to them. The danger at this stage is that experience starts buying you only more files, more pressure, and more problems to solve on your own. Pacific Northwest Family Law is looking for an experienced litigator in Yakima who wants something different: harder matters, more strategic responsibility, and a larger role in the profession and the community. Our Yakima office is small enough that you can become a visible part of it and take real ownership of difficult cases. At the same time, you will practice within a larger firm and have support from attorneys with decades of experience and backgrounds in federal service, military practice, complex litigation, appellate work, and long careers in family law. You will not be handed more work and left alone with it. You will have experienced lawyers around you to challenge your thinking, help with unfamiliar problems, and support your growth into greater responsibility, leadership, and partnership opportunities. Family law experience is valuable, but it is not required. We are interested in prosecutors, defense attorneys, civil litigators, and other lawyers who already know how to prepare for court, manage difficult facts, exercise judgment under pressure, and advocate for clients.
Compensation and Benefits: Base salary is $100,000 to $135,000, depending on experience. Attorneys are expected to bill and collect 1,500 hours annually. Attorneys who exceed that requirement receive additional compensation equal to 30% of the collected attorney revenue generated by work above the threshold. Attorneys who originate clients also receive a 10% rainmaker bonus on collected revenue from those matters.medical, dental, and vision insuranceHSA401(k) with employer matchingWSBA duesunlimited CLE through NBIFor this Yakima position, the firm also offers up to $5,000 in relocation reimbursement and a retention bonus after six months.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
