Senior Process Control Technician - Aluminum Die Casting Cedarburg, WI | Up to $41.00 per hour | Full-time, 3rd shift A large independent high-pressure aluminum die casting manufacturer in the Cedarburg, Wisconsin area is hiring a Senior Process Control Technician for its 3rd shift. The plant is ISO-certified and supplies tier-one OEM customers. This role monitors and optimizes process parameters on automated die casting cells, leads root-cause analysis on casting defects, and works to improve first-pass yield and reduce scrap. This is a direct-hire position. Schedule Full-time, 3rd shift, on-site in the Cedarburg, WI area. Compensation Up to $41.00 per hour, based on experience, plus pay-for-performance bonus opportunities.
What You'll Do: You will monitor and analyze critical process variables on automated, high-pressure aluminum die casting cells. These include melt temperatures, shot profiles, injection speeds, intensification pressures, cycle times, and die lubrication. You will use real-time shot monitoring systems and review X-ray inspection data to confirm parts meet customer specifications. When defects appear, you will lead root-cause analysis on issues such as porosity, cold shuts, soldering, blisters, flash, misruns, and shrinkage. You will then adjust process parameters to correct them. You will set up, fine-tune, and validate parameters for new product launches, die tryouts, and ongoing production. You will also work with quality and engineering on production trials to validate changes and improve first-pass yield. You will create and maintain process setup sheets and operating instructions. You will also train machine operators and setup technicians on standardized parameters so the process runs consistently across the shift.
Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED 2+ years of hands-on process control or technical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to interpret process monitoring data, thermal profiles, and quality reports Experience performing root-cause analysis on production defects Ability to work 3rd shift Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications: High-pressure aluminum die casting experience, including vacuum-assisted die casting Plastic injection molding or metalworking process experience Experience with real-time shot monitoring software and X-ray inspection analysis Familiarity with robotic automation on casting cells Working knowledge of IATF 16949 Experience with Six Sigma, 5S, Pareto analysis, or formal root-cause methods Technical diploma or associate degree in manufacturing technology or metallurgy
