- Monday–Friday, with shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PMSome weekend day shifts may be required based on hospital needs
- As a Veterinary Rehabilitation Technician, you will support rehabilitation assessments, treatment plans, and therapeutic exercises while providing compassionate care to patients and guidance to their families.
- Obtain and review patient histories through medical records and client interviews
- Build relationships with clients and provide education and support throughout rehabilitation treatment plans
- Demonstrate therapeutic exercises and teach home care techniques, including passive range of motion (PROM), massage, and stretching
- Assign and monitor individualized home exercise programs using rehabilitation software
- Assist with rehabilitation appointments, treatments, and therapeutic exercise programs
- Support underwater treadmill therapy and maintain rehabilitation equipment and facilities
- Utilize rehabilitation modalities, including therapeutic laser, NMES, and TENS, as appropriate to training and treatment plans
- Perform veterinary technical skills such as venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, digital radiography, and monitoring sedated patients when needed
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate patient progress with veterinarians, colleagues, referring clinics, and clients
- Prepare treatment estimates and maintain accurate billing and invoicing
- Assist with filling medications and herbal prescriptions before discharge
- Complete follow-up communications with current and discharged rehabilitation patients
- Clean, organize, and stock rehabilitation treatment areas and equipment
- Promote a positive, collaborative environment focused on patient care and client service
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations
- Veterinary Rehabilitation certification (CCRT, CCRA, CCRP, or CCAT) or current enrollment in a rehabilitation certification program
- Minimum of one year of veterinary rehabilitation experience preferred
- Experience with underwater treadmill therapyExperience performing therapeutic massage and stretching techniques
- Experience with Class 3B or Class 4 laser therapyExperience with neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)
- Experience developing and implementing therapeutic exercise programs
- Strong understanding of anatomy, musculature, and orthopedic or neurologic conditions
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong client communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative specialty veterinary environment
- Comfortable working on the floor with patients for more than 50% of the workday
- Ability to safely support and assist patients, including large and giant-breed dogs
- Experience with positive reinforcement training techniques or interest in pursuing additional education in this area
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
