About the role

About AlphaHire Workforce Intelligence Lab (WIL) The AlphaHire Workforce Intelligence Lab (WIL) is an applied research initiative studying how workforce conditions influence delivery of mission-critical investments and public programs. WIL builds methodology-transparent workforce intelligence and university partnership capacity for STEM education and workforce sponsored research - connecting institutional hosts with WIL research and delivery teams on grant packages. Learn more: https://wilinstitute.org We engage experienced researchers and practitioners for both full-time employment and project-based contract roles, depending on the award and staffing model. Engagements are remote-first with travel as required for partner campuses, school districts, and field sites. We build ready teams for live grant and sponsored-research pursuits - not speculative staffing banks. This opportunity is contingent upon grant or sponsored-project award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal or funding package. WIL is seeking a University Partnership / Sponsored Research Liaison (Co-PI-ready Research Scientist) to connect WIL research capacity with university and community-college hosts - including sponsored programs offices, colleges of education, engineering education units, and technician-education centers - on STEM education and workforce sponsored projects.
What you'll do: Map and advance university and community-college partnership pathways for STEM education and workforce sponsored projects Coordinate with institutional sponsored programs, research development, and faculty PIs on roles, scopes, and proposal timelines Support research design, evaluation framing, and partnership documentation suitable for NSF-style and related education packages Facilitate introductions among K-14, community-college, industry, and university partners when the project design calls for it Contribute specialist qualifications and citeable past projects to WIL grant and sponsored-research packages when permissioned
Required: Demonstrated experience in university sponsored research, research development, academic-industry or academic-K14 partnership, or Co-PI / senior-personnel roles on STEM education or workforce projects Strong written communication for proposals, scopes of work, and partner correspondence Ability to navigate IHE sponsored-programs processes and faculty collaboration norms Open to full-time employment or project-based contract engagement; remote-first with travel as partner work requires
Nice to have: Prior NSF, ATE, RET, RIEF, IUSE, or related sponsored-project experience
Familiarity with community-college technician education or engineering education research communities Prior projects you can cite (agency or institution, your role, year)

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
