About the role

School Nurse Opportunity Near Newark, NJA rewarding opportunity awaits an experienced Registered Nurse seeking to make a direct impact in a school setting. This contract role is positioned near Newark, NJ and requires a compassionate and skilled RN to provide dedicated support to a 7-year-old female student, working 1:1 throughout the school day. As a full-time, onsite position (33–36.5 hours/week), you'll play an integral part in both the student's educational and healthcare journey by meeting her each morning at her home in Bayonne, NJ for bus transportation, ensuring her safe and supported arrival to the school from 8:25am–2:40pm. Immediate start is available, extending through 06/17/2027.
What We're Looking For:
  • Active RN license valid in the state of New JerseyPrior experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
  • Familiarity with dysphagia, duodenal atresia, and malrotation of intestines
  • Proficiency with G-tube feedings, catheter management, toileting, and medication administration
  • Comfortable with diapering and providing personal care in a professional and respectful manner
  • Capable of riding the school bus to and from the student's home daily
  • Caring, observant, and excellent communication skills for parent, school staff, and student interaction
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one nursing care throughout the school day and during transportation
  • Administer daily medications and support medical interventions as required
  • Assist with all feeding needs, toileting, and personal hygiene
  • Monitor for health changes and communicate effectively with family and school personnel
  • Ensure a safe, encouraging, and respectful environment for your student
