Position Overview: MercyOne Waterloo/Cedar Falls Behavioral Health Care is seeking a dedicatedAdvanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)withPsychiatric Mental Health certificationto join our established, well-respected, and growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoyinstant volumeand collaborate with a strong multidisciplinary team. Practice HighlightsJoin anestablished, well-respected, and growing practice .Current team:1 General Psychiatrist1 Child Psychiatrist1 Psych Hospitalist1 ARNPClinic-based rolewith shared call responsibilities. Call schedule: Weekday: 1:5*Weekend: 1:7* (*subject to change) Includes consults and inpatient unit coverage. Facilities:20-bed Inpatient Unit at Waterloo Medical CenterHorizons Chemical Dependency UnitLarge support staff of psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors.
Responsibilities: Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions. Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic responses. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care. Provide patient education and support for families. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).QualificationsCurrent Iowa license as a Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).Psychiatric Mental Health certification required .Experience in behavioral health or psychiatry strongly desired. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Schedule & Compensation
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with shared call as noted above.
