Job description: Temporary Part-Time Bookkeeper
Location: Cabin John, MD
Schedule: 2–3 days per week, ideally Tuesday–Thursday
Duration: Late September/Early October through November Matlock Group is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a temporary, part-time assignment with a well-established architecture, interior design, and construction company in Cabin John, MD.The position would pay between $42-$45/hour based on experience and this role would be onsite. The ideal candidate will have strong Quick Books Desktop Enterprise experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Process biweekly payroll for approximately 56–60 employees. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, check preparation, and ACH payments. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records. Generate customer invoices, process deposits, and monitor cash flow. Ensure accurate job costing, expense coding, and payment allocation. Provide additional bookkeeping and administrative support as needed.
Qualifications: Strong Quick Books Desktop Enterprise experience required. Payroll processing experience highly preferred. Construction bookkeeping and job costing experience preferred. Experience with Quick Books Time/Workforce and Quick Books Payments a plus. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Work Environment: This is a temporary, part-time opportunity offering approximately 16–24 hours per week, with flexibility for an experienced bookkeeper. The position is primarily on-site.
