About the role
- Lead, schedule, train, and develop sanitation employees
- Oversee daily sanitation activities for production equipment and facility areas
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, SSOPs, food safety requirements, and sanitation procedures
- Conduct sanitation and CIP audits and address deficiencies
- Maintain and continuously improve plant sanitation programs
- Monitor sanitation performance, quality standards, and department KPIsTroubleshoot sanitation issues and implement corrective actions
- Partner with Operations, Quality, and other departments to resolve sanitation concerns
- Manage relationships with chemical suppliers and other sanitation vendors
- Review and validate SSOPs following process or equipment changes
- Promote safe chemical handling and maintain compliance with applicable safety requirements
- Coach employees, provide performance feedback, and support corrective action when necessary
- 2+ years of sanitation, food manufacturing, or closely related experience
- Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of GMPs, SSOPs, sanitation procedures, and food safety practices
- Experience with industrial cleaning and sanitation processes
- Understanding of chemical concentrations, dilutions, and safe chemical handling
- Strong leadership, communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively across Production, Quality, and other plant departments
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience and education considered
- Preferred Experience
- Sanitation leadership within dairy or food manufacturing
- Clean-in-place (CIP) systems and sanitation verification
- Chemical supplier/vendor management
- Food manufacturing sanitation audits and regulatory compliance
