About the role
Electrical & Automation Engineer Adecco is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Electrical & Automation Engineer to support the reliability, efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement of its manufacturing operations. This position will be responsible for electrical systems, industrial automation, controls, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and engineering projects throughout the facility. The successful candidate will work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, Quality, and external partners to improve equipment performance, minimize downtime, support production goals, and maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and developing practical solutions that improve manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve electrical systems, motors, drives, control panels, instrumentation, and industrial equipment. Diagnose electrical and controls-related equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions. Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, sensors, and other automation equipment. Support electrical and controls systems throughout the manufacturing facility. Maintain accurate electrical drawings, schematics, equipment documentation, and technical records. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, safety, and overall performance. Automation & Manufacturing Systems Support automation initiatives across manufacturing and packaging operations. Develop and implement PLC and control-system improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste. Partner with Production and Engineering teams to troubleshoot process and automation issues. Assist with the integration of new equipment, controls, instrumentation, and automation technologies. Support commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and optimization of new or upgraded equipment. Lead or support electrical and automation projects, equipment upgrades, and production line improvements. Work with contractors, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers on technical specifications, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning. Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, equipment utilization, energy consumption, and operating costs. Support root-cause analysis and corrective action initiatives. Manage assigned projects to established timelines, budgets, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent technical experience may be considered. Experience in electrical engineering, industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing maintenance. Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience. Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or comparable PLC platforms. Experience with HMIs, SCADA, VFDs, instrumentation, sensors, and industrial control systems. Experience troubleshooting electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance practices. Experience with equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning, or capital projects. Strong understanding of industrial electrical safety and applicable regulations. Experience in food, beverage, consumer products, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments is a plus. Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
