Sales Specialist The Sales Specialist is responsible for providing direct support to Sales Representatives, and Customers/Policy holders with new and/or renewal accounts. Responsibilities: Responsible for making business decisions relating to customer insurance placement and assuring customer insurance needs are met. Responsible for handling day to day needs, including filing for renewal changes, maintain reports, enter marketing in database system, processing marketing documents/proposals/applications, keeping detailed records of customer and underwriter correspondence, and answering questions regarding policies and explaining coverage. Responsible for managing monthly reporter consisting of policy changes, policy adjustment and premium adjustments. Ability to effectively communicate verbal and written information associated with company processes and procedures. Respond to inquiries verbally, via email or written correspondence. Provide high quality, professional, courteous service by following established departmental procedures. Ensure that the services provided are within established company guidelines regarding quality of service and productivity. Support sales representatives and customers with coverage proposals to include rate negotiation, financing of premiums, completion of applications, collection of premium, and forwarding documentation to the insurance company. Communicate with customers relative to completion of underwriting requirements and financing of premiums. Explain policy provisions and policy holder responsibilities and duties. Determine risks and make recommendations regarding risk management. Communicate with customers and insurance company regarding ongoing service, policy changes, claims and customer satisfaction. Assist in collection of down payments required to bind additional coverage or changes to existing policy/coverage. Process customer receipts; prepare invoices and record payments as required for accurate accounting. Responsible for collection of past due balances. Enter data in the Applied Vision management system as required or specified. Maintain accurate records as required by the agency and the insurance companies in a manner that makes such records accessible to anyone in the agency upon need and in accordance with standard business practice and any local, state and federal applicable statutes. Basic Qualifications and Attributes: High School Diploma or General Education Degree. A minimum of 1.5 to 2 years of related work experience in a similar position. May substitute the equivalent combination of education and training. Position requires Texas General Lines P & C license. Must be able to obtain license within 60 days of employment. General Lines P & C license and/or other specific license required by the State Board of Insurance. Licenses must be kept current and compliant per State requirements. Personal computer software knowledge and skills with a minimum typing of 40 wpm. Proficiency with related software systems as needed to fully execute the duties required. General office skills and knowledge of equipment and systems including but not limited to electronic filing systems, copiers, scanners, postage meters, telephone systems and other communication or electronic equipment as may be applicable. Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations as may be applicable. Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
