Engagement: Contract, minimum three months
Compensation: $55 - $70/hour, depending on experience
At Madecraft, we're shaping exceptional people—with exceptional learning. It's an exciting time to work in the continuously growing space of online learning! The team at Madecraft loves education, loves to learn, and works every day to build expert-led, stylish micro-lessons that put learners first. We're trusted by the world’s most admired brands: Microsoft, Meta, Google, Adobe, Coursera, Cornerstone, and LinkedIn. A successful content producer will have a passion for learning and a desire to develop meaningful content. This is an incredibly creative individual with strong project management, communication, instructional design, and problem-solving skills. You’ll get to solve new challenges, engage with exceptional experts who are the top voices in their field, and transform learners’ lives with quality online courses.
Primary Responsibilities: Plan, develop, manage, and execute multiple learning courses at various stages of their lifecycle, owning a production roadmap and reporting status weekly, flagging at-risk due dates early. Serve as the primary point of contact for subject matter experts (SMEs) throughout content development and production — responsive, collaborative, and accountable to their project schedule. Work with SMEs to develop curriculum for audio, screen capture, or live-action educational courses. Review scripts and outlines against Madecraft's content guidelines, and edit or revise content into production-ready format. Coach SMEs through their presentation performance ahead of recording. Create storyboards that outline the graphical requirements and visual storytelling to support the instructional design of the course. Coordinate the production team for day-of recording to keep the process efficient. Audit existing courses and recommend fixes to scripts, content, and graphics. Manage and resolve production issues identified throughout post-production, escalating with a proposed solution when needed. Provide defensible feedback on a course's post-production to remove any issues impacting the learner. Proactively recommend improvements to production processes, recording quality, and the overall author experience. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills, with experience editing or writing scripted content
  • Experience reviewing or editing instructional content — scripts, outlines, or storyboards — against a defined style or quality standard
  • Comfortable giving direction and coaching feedback to subject matter experts or presenters ahead of recording 2+ years managing multiple projects in various phases against tight deadlines
  • Experience resolving production issues and keeping a roadmap or pipeline current without being asked
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • Background in instructional design, video production, or content development
  • Experience with audio and video recording processes
  • Comfortable using AI to streamline repeatable processes
  • Experience with Google Suite, Slack, and monday.com or similar pipeline tools

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
