Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a leading provider of safety and mission-critical solutions to identify a Director of Federal Sales to lead and grow its federal sales organization. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced federal sales professional who can drive revenue growth, develop a high-performing team, and build strong relationships across the federal government and military sectors.
What You’ll Do: Lead, coach, and develop a team of federal sales professionals, with accountability for team performance and growth. Develop and execute the federal sales strategy to drive revenue, profitability, and market expansion. Build and maintain relationships with key federal agencies, military organizations, and strategic customers. Oversee pipeline management, forecasting, CRM adoption, and sales performance. Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, IT, and Customer Success to support customer and business objectives. Develop and execute federal contract strategies and ensure opportunities align with appropriate government contract vehicles. Support the team on strategic opportunities and help drive new business while expanding existing customer relationships. Monitor federal funding priorities, industry trends, and competitive activity to identify new opportunities.
What We’re Looking For: 5+ years of experience in federal or government sales. Proven experience managing and developing a sales team or leading a senior sales organization. Strong understanding of federal procurement processes and government contract vehicles. Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, managing pipelines, and forecasting sales performance. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the U.S. when needed, including overnight and air travel.
