About the role

La Bottega is looking for an experienced, commercially minded Key Holder to join our New York team. This is first and foremost a sales and Rider Experience role, with additional responsibility for opening, closing and protecting the store when scheduled. At the heart of the role is selling. You will actively engage riders, understand their needs and confidently recommend bikes, apparel, components, accessories and services while creating an exceptional La Bottega experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO: · Actively engage customers and identify sales opportunities.· Understand rider needs through effective discovery and questioning.· Recommend complete solutions rather than isolated products.· Confidently support and close bike, apparel and accessory sales.· Contribute to store sales, conversion, ATV and UPT.· Develop customer relationships and support CRM and follow-up activity.· Maintain strong cycling and product knowledge.· Open or close the store according to established procedures.· Take responsibility for keys, alarms and store security.· Complete required POS and end-of-day processes.· Ensure the store is ready for customers when opening and appropriately secured when closing.· Provide calm and responsible decision-making when senior store leadership is not present.· Support replenishment, merchandising, inventory, events, receiving and day-to-day store operations.· Recognize what needs doing and take action without waiting to be asked.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: We’re looking for someone who is passionate about cycling and comfortable combining strong selling skills with additional store responsibility.· An enthusiastic and knowledgeable cyclist.· Confident in engaging customers and building relationships.· Commercially aware and motivated by sales performance.· Reliable, responsible and comfortable being entrusted with store keys and security.· Able to make sensible decisions when senior store leadership is not present.· Comfortable working across different areas of the store.· Flexible and able to work weekends, opening and closing shifts.· A strong communicator and team player. Experience in premium retail, cycling retail, bike sales, apparel or the wider cycling industry is an advantage.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE: Strong sales contribution, excellent customer relationships, reliable opening and closing, good judgment, high standards, commercial awareness and the confidence to take responsibility when required. ONE BOTTEGA TEAMLa Bottega operates as one team. Everyone contributes to sales. Everyone contributes to the Rider Experience. Everyone supports the operation. Everyone owns the standard. Your role gives you an area of expertise — not a boundary. New York, NY  |  Approximately 20 hours per week  |  $26.00–$28.00 per hour

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
