Position Summary:
The Database Architect owns the data architecture for the platform. You will design the data models, storage strategy, and data-flow patterns for a high-volume filing platform on AWS, ensuring performance, integrity, security, and regulatory auditability.

The Database Architect owns the data architecture for the platform. You will design the data models, storage strategy, and data-flow patterns for a high-volume filing platform on AWS, ensuring performance, integrity, security, and regulatory auditability.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the target-state data architecture and data models for the platform
Design storage, partitioning, and access strategies on AWS data services (Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift)
Define data governance, lineage, and quality standards
Architect data pipelines, integration, and dissemination patterns
Ensure data security, encryption, and regulatory auditability
Partner with product and cloud architects on cross-domain data concerns
Support analytics and AI/ML data enablement
Review data designs and mentor database developers

Requirements:
Non-Technical Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be willing to work a HYRBID Schedule (2 Days) in Reston, VA & client locations in the Washington D.C. area as required.
Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Must be able to prioritize and self-start.

Required Qualifications:
10+ years of data engineering/architecture experience
Deep expertise in data modeling and both relational and NoSQL databases
Experience with AWS data services at scale
Strong understanding of data governance and security
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS data/analytics certification
Financial-regulatory or high-volume systems experience
Familiarity with AI/ML data enablement
