About the role

Our client, a leading global media company, is seeking a Front End Designer to join their Marketing Creative team. This role sits at the intersection of creative design, email marketing, and front-end execution, supporting subscription, membership, and consumer engagement initiatives across a portfolio of world-renowned media brands. The ideal candidate is a highly creative, hands-on designer with deep expertise in email marketing, lifecycle CRM campaigns, responsive HTML email development, and digital asset creation. This individual will play a key role in developing customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and win-back campaigns while ensuring exceptional user experience and brand consistency.
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid: Monday-Thursday Onsite, Friday Remote)
Pay Rate: $45-$47.50/hour
Schedule: 40 hours/week | 9:00 AM - 5:30 PMResponsibilitiesDesign and develop responsive HTML email campaigns optimized across major email clients and devices. Create engaging lifecycle marketing assets supporting acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, and reactivation campaigns. Build and maintain modular email templates and scalable design systems within CRM platforms. Design digital marketing assets including display banners, paid social creative, animations, and multimedia content. Apply HTML and CSS expertise to build, troubleshoot, and optimize email and web-based assets. Conduct quality assurance testing to ensure proper rendering, functionality, and performance across browsers and email clients. Collaborate with creative leadership, project managers, and marketing stakeholders to execute high-performing campaigns. Analyze campaign performance insights and recommend creative enhancements to improve engagement and conversion results. Ensure all creative work aligns with brand standards, messaging guidelines, and user experience best practices. Stay current on email marketing trends, CRM best practices, front-end development techniques, and emerging AI-enabled creative tools. Organize and manage creative files, templates, code assets, and project documentation.
Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in digital design, email marketing design, CRM creative, or related fields. Proven experience designing and coding responsive HTML email campaigns. Strong understanding of email-specific HTML/CSS constraints and cross-client rendering requirements. Experience creating lifecycle marketing campaigns and customer journey communications. Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects), and related design tools. Working knowledge of HTML and CSS; JavaScript knowledge is a plus. Experience designing digital advertising assets including display banners and paid social creative. Strong portfolio showcasing email campaigns, CRM marketing, digital design, and front-end execution work. Excellent understanding of typography, layout, visual hierarchy, and user experience principles. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Iterable, or similar CRM platforms. Experience with email testing platforms such as Litmus or Email on Acid. Knowledge of accessibility and ADA-compliant email design practices. Motion graphics and animation experience. Background supporting consumer brands, media, publishing, subscription services, retail, or e-commerce organizations. Familiarity with AI-assisted design and production workflows.
