About the role

Job DescriptionCompliance Officer (New York, NY) A growing, global alternative investment manager is looking to add a senior Compliance Officer to its New York team. The firm has experienced significant growth in recent years, with assets under management tripling over the past three years and continues to expand across investment strategies and international markets. This is an opportunity to serve as the lead compliance professional on the ground in the US, working closely with senior leadership and investment teams while helping oversee and develop the firm's US compliance program. The role offers a combination of hands-on compliance responsibilities, strategic involvement and the opportunity to take meaningful ownership within a sophisticated, growing investment management business. What They Are Looking For: The firm is ideally targeting someone with approximately 6–10 years of broad compliance experience, preferably within a hedge fund or other investment management environment. Prior exposure to trading compliance would be helpful, but the emphasis is on finding a strong generalist who can confidently navigate a wide range of regulatory and business matters. More importantly, they're looking for someone who is: Technically strong and commercially minded, with a solid understanding of investment adviser regulations and the ability to provide practical compliance guidance. A true generalist, comfortable working across regulatory filings, Code of Ethics, compliance testing, marketing review, trading-related matters and broader regulatory issues. Ambitious, driven and career-focused, with a strong work ethic, a genuine commitment to building a long-term career in compliance, and the willingness to go the extra mile when necessary. Independent and proactive, with the judgment and confidence to take ownership of senior-level compliance matters and serve as a trusted resource to the business. Adaptable and willing to roll up their sleeves, with the ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment. What Makes This Interesting: The biggest attraction is the opportunity to take a leadership position within the US compliance function at a firm that is continuing to grow. With a broad investment platform spanning global macro, emerging markets and private credit, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse range of investment strategies and work directly with senior decision-makers across the business. The firm has made significant investments in its platform and continues to expand internationally, creating an opportunity for someone to help shape the compliance function as the business evolves. For the right person, there is meaningful room to grow professionally, take on additional responsibility and establish themselves as a key member of the firm's leadership team. The environment is fast-paced and demanding, with high expectations and no shortage of interesting work. This is best suited to someone who enjoys being busy, wants to be close to the business and is motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible impact.
Compensation: 200-250k base + bonus (300-450k all in), depending on experience

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
