About the role

Lead Technician Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Technician to lead commercial and industrial structured cabling, electronic access control, and low-voltage system installations throughout Virginia. This is a hands-on field leadership role responsible for supervising installation crews while performing installation, programming, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and servicing of structured cabling, electronic access control, CCTV, fiber optic, and other low-voltage systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to manage field activities while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Occasional travel is required based on project assignments.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and train installation technicians in the field. Install, configure, and service: Structured Cabling Systems Electronic Access Control Systems Fiber Optic InfrastructureCCTV/IP Video Surveillance Systems Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)Other Low-Voltage Systems Pull, terminate, test, certify, and label copper and fiber cabling. Install cameras, card readers, door hardware, control panels, NVRs, alarm devices, and associated equipment. Program, commission, test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic access control and low-voltage systems. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and project drawings. Coordinate daily jobsite activities and ensure projects remain on schedule. Maintain installation quality, jobsite safety, and accurate project documentation. Communicate effectively with project managers, general contractors, vendors, and customers. Diagnose technical issues and provide timely field solutions. Ensure compliance with company standards, manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and jobsite safety requirements.
