About the role
Hybrid 3-4 days onsite in New York, NYOur client seeks a highly technical Data Governance & Analytics professional to lead data governance standards, oversee marketing analytics data quality, and partner across analytics, engineering, legal, privacy, and product teams. This role will help establish scalable processes that ensure marketing reporting and data pipelines remain accurate, compliant, trustworthy, and business-ready. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w 2 basis. Rate: $70.00 to $75.00/hr. w 2
Responsibilities:
Define and lead data governance standards, policies, and best practices across marketing analytics environments. Own and enhance the data quality framework, including QA processes, monitoring, validation, and escalation procedures. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness across marketing data sources, reporting platforms, and dashboards. Oversee automated workflows supporting data collection, transformation, reporting, and analytics. Partner with engineering teams to establish scalable, governed data pipelines. Serve as the primary point of contact for data lineage, access controls, governance standards, and compliance-related questions. Conduct root cause analysis on recurring data issues and drive long-term corrective solutions. Maintain governance documentation, data dictionaries, validation frameworks, and reporting standards. Stay current on emerging data governance, privacy, and data engineering best practices. Collaborate with data engineering, product, marketing analytics, legal, privacy, and finance to resolve discrepancies and systemic reporting issues. Mentor junior analysts on QA and governance best practices and translate technical concepts into business-friendly language. Perform ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and deliver insights that improve marketing performance and reporting effectiveness.
Experience Requirements:
7+ years in data governance, data quality/QA, data engineering, or marketing analytics. Advanced SQL and strong Python experience. Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, data lineage, access controls, and marketing data compliance. Experience overseeing multiple enterprise data pipelines. Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, data ingestion workflows, validation methodologies, deployment processes, and backend data systems. Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Tableau, Looker, or AWS Quick Sight. Experience with orchestration and pipeline tools such as Airflow or dbt. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with strong communication and presentation skills. Proven cross-functional partnership across technical and business teams and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, proactive risk identification, and issue resolution.
Preferred:
prior streaming media experience, support for digital marketing organizations, experience establishing or scaling a data governance program, leadership or people management, large-scale analytics or governance initiatives, familiarity with GDPR and CCPA, and executive-facing communication abilities.
