Taily connects New Yorkers with skilled local tailors who come to them. Customers book fittings at home or at the office through our app, and tailors complete the work in their own studios. We handle bookings, payments, scheduling, and delivery so you can focus on the craft.
Role Description:
As a Mobile Tailor with Taily, you'll provide fittings and alterations to customers at their homes and offices across New York City, managing your schedule through the Taily app. After meeting customers for measurements and fittings, you'll complete the work in your own studio, and Taily will arrange courier delivery of the finished garments.
What you'll do:
Travel to customers' homes and offices for scheduled fitting appointments Take accurate measurements and assess fit on the body Pin, mark, and fit garments, discussing adjustments and preferences with each customer Advise customers on the alterations that will achieve the best fit and finish Complete alterations in your studio, including hems, taking in or letting out, sleeves, tapering, and zipper repairs Conduct follow-up fittings when needed for more complex work Package finished garments on time for courier pickup What we're looking for 5+ years of professional tailoring or alterations experience Expertise in suiting and formal dresses, including gowns and bridal wear Skilled in machine and hand sewing, working independently to a high standard Exceptional attention to detail in measuring, fitting, and finishing Friendly and professional with customers in their homes and offices Punctual, with strong time management to meet every deadline Able to travel to appointments within your chosen service area Own sewing equipment and workspace Portfolio or work samples preferred What you get Keep 100% of your tailoring fees Flexible schedule: choose your own hours and service area Protection for late cancellations and no-showsA steady stream of local customers, with no marketing required Courier delivery handled for you Compensation Tailors receive 100% of the tailoring fee for every order. Taily sets standardized pricing for each service, and the full amount goes directly to you, with weekly payouts through the app. Typical earnings range from $100 to $400 per appointment, depending on the garments and alterations involved.
