About the role

Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator Porter, Indiana Join our Porter team as an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator and play an important role in creating a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplace. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys being out in the operation, working directly with employees and leaders, identifying risks, and helping turn EHS expectations into everyday practices. You'll support both safety and environmental programs while continuing to build your EHS knowledge and experience.
What You'll Do: Lead new hire safety orientation and employee EHS training. Spend time in the operation identifying hazards, assessing risk and supporting injury-prevention efforts. Coordinate safety activities, inspections and employee safety teams. Support incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and follow-up. Serve as a facility point of contact for day-to-day EHS questions and concerns. Help maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA and other regulatory requirements. Support environmental programs including waste and chemical management, oil storage, spill prevention and response, and universal/hazardous waste areas. Collect, maintain and report EHS data and required records. Partner with employees and leaders across the facility to strengthen EHS awareness, accountability and continuous improvement. Help ensure Corporate EHS policies, procedures and best practices are consistently followed.
What We're Looking For: 1-3 years of environmental or safety experience in a manufacturing, steel or industrial environment and/or an EHS-related degree or certification. Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements. Understanding of environmental compliance requirements such as SPCC and RCRA is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Comfortable providing training and presenting information to groups. Organized and detail-oriented with strong recordkeeping and follow-through. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams. This is an opportunity to build broad EHS experience in a hands-on steel processing environment. You'll work across the facility, partner directly with employees and leaders, and have the opportunity to make a visible impact on safety, environmental performance and continuous improvement.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
