About the role

Our client is a technology company developing advanced battery materials used in EV and stationary energy storage applications. These products improve the safety and reliability of battery systems in the field, reducing the risk of thermal events while also contributing to the domestic content requirements for energy storage. The Sales Manager, Battery Energy Storage Systems will be responsible for growing the company’s North American BESS business. This remote U.S.-based role will own revenue, bookings, gross margin, new customer acquisition, and strategic account development. You will help develop and execute the sales and business development strategy working across the Energy Storage value chain including OEMs, Developers, IPPs, Engineering Firms and Asset Owners.
What You’ll Do: Own North American BESS revenue, bookings, gross margin, and new customer objectives. Build relationships with BESS integrators, battery and module suppliers, developers, EPCs, asset owners, and other industry stakeholders. Prospect and develop priority accounts across engineering, safety, compliance, procurement, operations, and executive leadership. Ultimately close transactions with Battery OEMsMaintain a qualified sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts, close plans, and risk assessments. Manage complex sales opportunities from qualification through contracting and production. Provide leadership with updates on revenue opportunities, customer decisions, risks, resource needs, and next steps.
The Ideal Candidate: Will Have 5+ years of progressive sales experience.3+ years of business development experience in the BESS market and relationships with decision makers across the value chain. A demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding revenue or new business targets in complex, long-cycle sales environments. Experience developing business in new or emerging market segments. Ability to build new accounts and establish relationships with technical, commercial, procurement, and executive decision-makers. Ability to work effectively with engineers and safety professionals while communicating commercial value to executive stakeholders. Willingness to travel approximately 40–50% throughout the United States and Canada.
