Job Description: Job Description About the Role: KC Fleet Service Inc is looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic and a motivated Helper to join our growing team in Deer Park, NY! Responsibilities: Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks, fleet vehicles, and equipment Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks Troubleshoot engine, transmission, electrical, and hydraulic systems Assist with parts sourcing, ordering, and inventory management Support senior mechanics with repairs and service tasks (Helper role)Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop standards Document service records and repair orders accurately Requirements: Experience as a diesel mechanic or in a mechanical helper/apprentice role preferred Familiarity with diesel engines, drivetrain systems, and fleet vehicles Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment safely Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
