Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site Forklift Operator role based in the Summerville, South Carolina Area. The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move, load, and unload roofing and exterior materials. Daily tasks include staging and organizing inventory, preparing orders for shipment, and assisting with receiving and storing incoming materials. The role also involves checking materials for accuracy and damage, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and following all company and OSHA safety procedures. This position works closely with warehouse staff, drivers, and customer service teams to ensure efficient, timely order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess skills in Forklift Operation and safe Material Handling. Candidates should possess skills in Shipping & Receiving and Unloading procedures. Candidates should possess skills in Packing and preparing materials for transport. Experience in warehouse or distribution environments, preferably in building materials or construction supply. Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in varying warehouse conditions. Knowledge of basic inventory practices and ability to read and interpret order tickets and labels. Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and reliable attendance. High school diploma or equivalent; current forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
