The Classroom Assistant takes direction from and supports the teaching staff in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment and supervising children The Classroom Assistant may also assist in planning and record keeping as requested by the Teacher Assists in providing a healthy and safe classroom and playground environments throughout the day
We are seeking a part-time Classroom Assistant to assist in a classical and Catholic classroom for 12 hours per week at our center near Baton Rouge in Gonzalez, Louisian The right applicant may have experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in your Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching your own children, or perhaps teaching in a classical or private school (although not required) The classroom assistant will assist teachers in elementary grade levels, including assisting with reading groups and specials (art, music, PE and drama)

As an Instructional Aide , you will provide individualized supervision and instruction to assigned students and additional support to the core classroom staff Managing student behavior in the classroom by upholding the Chancelight philosophy and policies, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary; working collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure consistency Active paraprofessional and/or PPS certification preferred
